How to keep your kids school backpacks free from bully classmates
How would you keep kids backpacks safe without your kid looking as an old-school?
Honestly, I am aware I sound like a paranoid mom. Luckily for my child it has not come to that. On the other hand, like every other “girls scout” mother I always took some precautionary actions for my child to remain safe always.
The following is a list on how I keep my child’s backpack and its content safeguarded every time he heads off to school and even when we travel. This way, I could teach my boy to be careful and be responsible on his own stuffs.
1. Choose the right pack- Select a school backpack t
hat open on the top only. Backpack with a number of storage compartments on the inside is great to place the important stuffs out of reach from the intruders.
2. Keep the zipper hidden low- When your children close their pack; teach them to keep the zipper tucked as low as possible. That way your child could reach under his arm quickly to check that it is still closed and secure from time to time.
3. Snap on a mini-carabineer- Closed the backpack zipper of your child with a carabineer, this kind of weird at the beginning but it gives you and your kid with tremendous peace of mind. Your child can take it off easily when he needs to get something, but it is one more obstacle from the bully classmates.
4. Place the good things deep inside- Finally; help your child to arrange his things from putting the good stuff deep inside and less valuable at the top. Discuss it involving your child the important and valuable items on his school bags.
As parents we don’t want to risk our child safety, we always want the best for them.
